Disney released a movie in 2002 by the name of Snow Dogs. This movie was directed by Brian Levant and will feature Cuba Gooding Jr. along with James Coburn. This story is based off a book. Cuba Gooding Jr. is Ted, who is a dentist who lives in Miami, Florida. He can be spotted on every bus in the metro area of Miami trying to promote his practice. In the beginning of the movie, a letter is opened by Ted. Inside of the letter it is told to him that he has inherited something from a Lucy Watkins. He is informed that he was adopted and she was his biological mother. The gift that she left to him was 7 Siberian Huskies and 1 Border Collie. He must then go to Alaska to stake his claim to the dogs.
While traveling to pick up the dogs he will be faced with challenges that are impossible to many people. Along his way he will encounter a man named Thunder Jack. Thunder Jack wants the dogs and is especially interested in Demon, the lead dog who is aggressive and somewhat defiant.
During his trip to Alaska, Ted will become involved with a woman who is a long time friend of his biological mother. She will help him to understand why his mother gave him up for adoption while trying to find out who his real father is. During this time it is discovered that Thunder Jack is actually his father.
Once Thunder Jack obtains the dogs and enters the race, he will find himself stranded due to weather. Once he learns that his father is missing, Ted will return to Alaska to try and locate his team of dogs and father. Once he is located there will be more questions that Ted will want answers to.
In the movie, you will watch as Thunder Jack and Ted work on their relationship along with relationships among other people. An uplifting movie for adults as well as for children.
