Sri Ramadasu is a 2006 Telugu devotional biographical film directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and produced by Konda Krishnam Raju. The movie is based on the life of Saint Poet Kancharla Gopanna, who is famously known as Ramadasu, one of the greatest devotees of Lord Rama in the 17th century. The film features Nagarjuna Akkineni in the lead role as Ramadasu, Sneha as his wife Dhanya, and Suman as the emperor Tanisha.

The story revolves around the life of Ramadasu, who is a revenue collector during the reign of the Qutb Shahi dynasty in the 17th century. He leads a happy married life with his wife Dhanya and his daughter Butta Kola. Ramadasu, who leads a luxurious life, is often criticized by the people in his village for not being generous enough. After listening to the Bhagavatham by a great saint Narahari, Ramadasu is inspired to become a devotee of Lord Rama and starts constructing a temple for Lord Rama in his village.

As Ramadasu starts the construction of the temple, he faces a lot of financial problems. He doesn't have the money to complete the temple, and as he refuses to take help from the emperor, he is imprisoned by Tanisha. But Ramadasu doesn't lose his faith in Lord Rama, and he continues singing and praising the lord in the prison. One day, Lord Rama and his consort Sita appear in his dream and tell him to build the temple with the help of the villagers. With their help, Ramadasu manages to complete the temple and Lord Rama praises him for his devotion.

The film is a beautiful representation of the Bhakti movement in India and portrays the importance of faith and devotion in the life of a person. Nagarjuna Akkineni, who plays the role of Ramadasu, delivers an outstanding performance and brings the character to life. His devotion towards Lord Rama is beautifully portrayed in the film, and his singing and acting bring a sense of realism to the character.

Sneha also delivers a memorable performance as Dhanya, Ramadasu's wife. Her love and support towards her husband during the difficult times are heartwarming, and her chemistry with Nagarjuna is beautiful. Suman, who plays the emperor Tanisha, is also exceptional in his role. His portrayal of a powerful ruler who is threatened by the devotion of Ramadasu is commendable.

The music and background score of the film are also noteworthy. The music by M. M. Keeravani perfectly captures the essence of the devotional nature of the film, and the songs are beautiful and soulful. The lyrics of the songs are written by M. M. Keeravani and K. S. Chitra, and they are a perfect blend of devotion and emotion.

The cinematography by S. Gopal Reddy is brilliant, and it captures the beauty of the village and the temple. The sets and costumes designed by Thota Tharani create an authentic feel to the film, and they transport the audience to the 17th century.

Overall, Sri Ramadasu is a masterpiece in Telugu cinema, and it has set a benchmark for devotional films. The film showcases the struggle of a man's devotion towards his lord, and it inspires the audience to have faith and devotion in their life. The film is a must-watch for those who appreciate good cinema and those who seek to understand the importance of faith in their lives.
