A mother that has depleted her job options makes a decision to work a job that involves cleaning up crime scenes. She acquires the aid of her unreliable sister and earns money for her son to attend private school. During this time the main character, played by Amy Adams, becomes embarrassed about her life decisions as she analyzes her relationship and new career choice. It all becomes a haunting reminder that she isn't where she thought that she would be in life. It also serves as a motivation to continue working in order to give her son a better life.
