Taaqatwar is a Hindi action film from 1989 directed by David Dhawan, starring Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, and Anita Raj. The film follows the story of two brothers, Vikram (Sanjay Dutt) and Vijay (Govinda), who are separated at a young age due to family circumstances. While Vikram grows up to become a notorious gangster, Vijay turns out to be a police officer.

The film begins with Vikram arriving in Mumbai from Delhi with his mother and sister. He soon gets involved in the city's underworld and is challenged by another gangster named Kali (Paresh Rawal). Vikram retaliates by killing Kali's men and gaining control of their territory. Meanwhile, Vijay is shown as an honest police officer who is newly appointed to Mumbai. He is initially oblivious to the fact that Vikram is his long-lost brother, but the truth soon comes to light.

One day, Vijay is given the task of arresting Vikram. He finds out about their relationship but realizes that Vikram is a changed man and wants to live a peaceful life with his family. However, Kali is not willing to let Vikram off the hook and kidnaps his sister to get to him. This creates a rift between the brothers, and the rest of the movie revolves around how they reconcile their differences and take down Kali and his gang.

Taaqatwar features some fantastic action scenes, with Sanjay Dutt and Govinda both doing an excellent job in their respective roles. The chemistry between the two actors is palpable, and their scenes together are some of the most enjoyable in the movie. Anita Raj, who plays Vikram's love interest, also gives a good performance.

The music in Taaqatwar is composed by Bappi Lahiri and is quite enjoyable, with songs like "Aaj Pehli Baar Dil Ki Baat" and "Dil Tere Naam Se Dhadakta Hai" being particular highlights. However, the movie's pacing could have been better, with some scenes feeling overly stretched out.

Overall, Taaqatwar is an entertaining Hindi action movie that is worth a watch, especially for fans of Sanjay Dutt and Govinda. While it may not be the most innovative film in terms of its plot, the performances, action scenes, and music make it a fun ride.
