In the movie The Back-Up Plan, Jennifer Lopez plays Zoe, a successful New York City businesswoman who decides to have a baby via artificial insemination after years of unsuccessful dating. However, on the same day as the procedure, she meets Stan (Alex O'Loughlin), a charming and handsome cheese farmer. The chemistry between them is palpable, but Zoe is hesitant to pursue a relationship as she fears it may jeopardize her plans to become a mother.

Despite her reservations, Zoe and Stan begin dating and quickly fall for each other. As they navigate the ups and downs of their burgeoning relationship, Zoe also grapples with the realities of pregnancy and the toll it takes on her body and emotions. Meanwhile, Stan must confront his own fears and insecurities about fatherhood.

Adding to the mix are Zoe's quirky best friend Mona (Michaela Watkins), who offers a humorous take on Zoe's pregnancy and dating experiences, and a host of colorful supporting characters, including a group of expectant mothers she meets in prenatal yoga class.

Throughout the movie, Zoe and Stan's love story unfolds against the backdrop of their respective personal struggles and the challenges of becoming parents. The film strikes a balance between lighthearted romantic comedy and more serious themes of infertility and the complexities of modern dating and relationships.

The Back-Up Plan ultimately delivers a heartwarming and relatable story about the joys and challenges of love, family, and finding one's own path in life.

The Back-Up Plan is a 2010 comedy. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.3 and a MetaScore of 34.
