Jonathan Cold used to be an undercover agent, but now he accepts missions on his own. These usually consist of delivering sensitive materials that are dangerous to be carrying around. The beginning of the movie has Jon attending his father's funeral. It is here where he is asked to do one more mission, but Jon is reluctant as he just wants to retire. However, he accepts the job as a favor.

For the mission, he is given a package and is not told about what is in it. He must pick it up in France and deliver it to someone in Germany. Soon after he picks up the package people start coming for him. Throughout the journey Jon must battle assassins and other people looking to stop him from completing the mission. After the first wave of attacks, Jon reconsiders the mission. Again, he reluctantly decides to keep going.

Along the way Jon learns more about what the package is, and who wants it. As he gets closer to completing the mission more obstacles get thrown in his way, but he keeps fighting to successfully complete his final mission. The mission would not be possible if he did not have help along the way. He meets a new friend, and also receives help from his brother.

The Foreigner is a 2003 action movie. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.4.
