The setting of The Hunger Games takes place in a nation called Panem where a televised event called the hunger games is very popular. This nation is a futuristic and it includes 12 small and poor districts and the wealthy capitol city. This nation makes young people such as boys and girls, who are around the ages of 12 and 18, partake in the televised Hunger Games. During The Hunger Games, the boys and girls are called "tributes." The Tributes are forced to partake in a vicious battle and must kill one another until there is only one tribute left and is awarded as the victor. The Tributes get selected to a lottery-like raffle that takes place in the 12 districts of Panem. Whoever gets selected must participate in the games; where the chances of survival are 1 in 12.
The plot of the story takes us to the district 12 where a young girl called Rosalie gets picked to become a tribute. She is shown crying because she believes that she doesn't have what it takes to make it out alive. Her sister and the protagonist of the film, Katniss, decides to volunteer herself to take Rosalie's place in the games. After being accepted as the district 12's new tribute, Katniss teams up with the handsome male tribute called Peeta Mellark and they both head to the capital in order to train and be prepared for the games. There are a lot of old adages in theatre, but "May the Odds Be Ever In Your Favor" isn't one of them...until now. "The Hunger Games" is being adapted for the stage by a team-up of Dutch and American production companies, with the aim of premiering as a stage show in London in 2016. "Robin de Levita and the entire production team are the perfect partners for extending The Hunger Games franchise into a live theatrical experience," Lionsgate said in a press release.
We know how well Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth get along. After all, the trio of young stars are the driving force behind "The Hunger Games" movie franchise, and they do have to spend a lot of time on set together. In fact, it seems like they spend so much time together that there's an ongoing game that they play together. Most people who still remember grade school will probably remember the "Circle Game," in which you try to get your friends to look at your hand making the "OK" symbol.
Does this count as a conscious uncoupling? According to E! News, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin have broken up after about five months of dating. The two started dating sometime in June following Lawrence's split with "X-Men" co-star Nicholas Hoult. Lawrence, 24, and Martin, 37, never went public with their relationship, but the two were spotted together frequently and Lawrence came to support the Coldplay frontman at two separate concerts in Los Angeles. In fact, the "Hunger Games" star was even said to have met with Gwyneth Paltrow for a friendly lunch after she and Martin had started dating.
"I started to write an apology, but I don't have anything to say I'm sorry for." That's what Jennifer Lawrence has to say about the release of her personal nude photos, which went on the Internet roughly a month ago as part of the largest celebrity photo hack ever. Until now, Lawrence had stayed quiet about the event save for a statement from her reps about prosecuting against the person who stole the photos. "Every single thing that I tried to write made me cry or get angry," she said in an interview with Vanity Fair.
Another set of female celebrities have fallen victim to a major email/phone hacking leading to a leak of private nude photos. "The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence is the biggest name on the list, joined by singers Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice, as well as model Kate Upton. The leak was originally posted on 4chan's anonymous /b/ board (link very, very NSFW). Since then, the same hacker (or perhaps others, it's hard to tell with 4chan's anonymity) has claimed to have a whole list of celebrity photos, including ones from Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Brie Larson, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Mary Kate Olsen, just to name a few.
A huge invasion of privacy, it turns out, is not the worst thing about last weekend's celebrity hack. Over 100 celebrities were victimized when an unknown hacker broke into their Apple iCloud accounts and released naked pictures online, setting the Internet ablaze and infuriating those who suddenly found private images of themselves circulating. Currently, Apple and the FBI are examining the breach. Those responsible face such charges as wire fraud to identity theft - but now they're looking at even more severe charges, like possible dissemination of child porn, as Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney was underage when the leaked photos of her were taken.
Wait, what? In a celebrity rumor I am personally hoping is manufactured, "Hunger Games" actress and Oscar winner, Jennifer Lawrence, is now being linked to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. Accoring to reports, the two have been seeing each other for "months." Lawrence, 24, broke up with her adorable boyfriend, "Warm Bodies" actor Nicholas Hoult, in June. The two dated for 18 months, broke up, and got back together last year before calling it quits over the summer.
