The Idiot is a 2003 Russian language Mini-Series based on Doestoevsky's classic from 1869. It spans 550 minutes. The film follows the book about young Prince Lev Myshkin (Evgeniy Mironov) as he returns to Russia after spending several years at a Swiss sanitarium. His naive nature is preyed upon by the power-elite of Russia as he is pulled between two lovers. The film as is in keeping with others based on Doestoevsky is philosophical in nature and questions where belongs honesty and goodness in "modern" society.
