The Kick is a 2011 action-comedy film directed by Prachya Pinkaew and written by Lee Jong-suk. The film's plot centers around a family of Taekwondo experts, who reside in Thailand, and their struggle to recover a stolen artifact, which holds great cultural significance to their homeland, Korea. The protagonist of the film is the eldest son of the Do family, Moon (Jae-Hyun Cho), who inherited his Taekwondo expertise from his grandparents and father. Moon's parents, Lee (Ji-won Ye) and Tae (Taejoo Na), also taught martial arts to their children and run a Taekwondo gym in Thailand.

The story begins as the Do family learns that the sacred Korean artifact, the 'golden dragon statue,' has been stolen from Korea and is now in Thailand. The family takes it upon themselves to retrieve the statue and return it to its rightful owner, Korea. Their mission, however, proves to be complicated as the thieves move the statue around multiple locations, making it difficult for the Do family to keep track of it.

While searching for the statue, the Do family discovers that the thieves are part of an organized crime syndicate, led by a Thai businessman, Mr. Boonting (Phetthai Vongkumlao). Mr. Boonting is a ruthless criminal who aims to use the statue as leverage against the Korean government to achieve his own objectives.

As the plot unfolds, the Do family finds themselves entangled in a web of violence, betrayal, and crime. Moon and his younger siblings, Tae-yang and Tae-mi (Tae-mi), must use their Taekwondo skills to fight off multiple adversaries and protect their family's honor.

The Kick is a fast-paced and action-packed film, with expertly choreographed fight scenes that showcase the beauty and power of Taekwondo. The camera work is impressive, capturing the intensity and fluidity of the martial art form.

In addition to its thrilling fight scenes, the film also has a strong comedic undertone. Moon's younger siblings, Tae-yang and Tae-mi, provide comic relief with their childlike innocence and their eagerness to help their older brother. The film also incorporates elements of family drama, highlighting the strength and unity of the Do family.

Overall, The Kick is an entertaining and engaging film that combines action, humor, and drama to create a unique cinematic experience. The film's impressive performances, expertly choreographed fight scenes, and powerful storytelling make it a must-watch for fans of martial arts films.
