Watch The Last Rider

This film, directed by Harry Thomason, chronicles the life and times of famed country musician Hank Williams. The film pays special attention to the last and final days of his life. The film stars the acting talents of Henry Thomas, Jesse James, Fred Dalton Thompson. The soundtrack, composed by various artists, features a variety of covers of Hank Williams songs. However, no original material by Williams is ever played throughout the film.

The plot begins shortly before Hank Williams was driven to a large concert scheduled for New Year's Eve in Ohio. He's arranged a ride with a car mechanic and the plot mainly focuses on their relationship as well as Williams’ drug dependency, the ultimate cause of his untimely demise.
