The Last Supper is a dark comedy/thriller movie released in 1995. The movie is directed by Stacy Title and stars Cameron Diaz, Ron Eldard, and Annabeth Gish among others. The film takes place in the mid-90s and is centered around a group of liberal university students who decide to have dinner parties with conservatives and kill them.

The story is set in Iowa, where a group of graduate students, including Jude (played by Eldard), Pete (played by Zack Orth), Marc (played by Jonathan Penner), Paulie (played by Mark Harmon), and Luke (played by Bill Paxton), are sharing a house together. They are all politically liberal and frustrated by the growing conservatism in the nation.

They start to have weekly dinner parties called "Last Supper" where they invite a conservative person to dinner and anonymously poison them. They then bury the body in the garden of the house. The group believes they are doing the world a favor by getting rid of the intolerant conservatives.

As the story progresses, the group's murder spree turns more violent and chaotic, leading to a police investigation. Meanwhile, they continue to invite more conservative guests to their dinners, including a Nazi sympathizer named Norman Arbuthnot (played by Charles Durning), a homophobic professor named Reverend Gerald Hutchens (played by Ron Perlman), and a misogynistic radio host named Earl Gundy (played by Jason Alexander).

The plot takes a turn when one of their guests turns out to be an undercover police officer named Zachary Cody (played by Michael Parks). Cody quickly figures out what is happening and the students trap him in their basement.

As tensions rise within the group and the police get closer, the students begin to turn on each other, leading to shocking revelations about their pasts and motivations.

The acting in The Last Supper is strong, with standout performances from Cameron Diaz as the group's resident artist and Annabeth Gish as the lone female member of the house who is torn between her liberal beliefs and the violence of her housemates.

The film tackles themes of political violence, morality, and the consequences of extreme actions in a thought-provoking way. It also offers a glimpse into the mindset of the extreme left-wing ideology of the 90s, which still resonates today.

Overall, The Last Supper successfully combines dark humor, suspense, and social commentary to create a unique and engaging film. It is an excellent choice for fans of dark comedy and thrillers.

The Last Supper is a 1996 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 32 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.7.
