This film tells the story of a group of life long friends in the neighborhood of Flatbush, in Brooklyn New York in 1957. They belong to a social club called The Lords of Flatbush. They are not bad guys, just normal guys that get a little bored and hot wire a car or two once in a while. They like to strut their stuff wearing black leather jackets with turn up collars.
Stanley Rosiello (Sylvester Stallone) fancies himself a tough guy except when it comes to Franny. He and his girlfriend Franny have been together since the beginning of high school. Frannie finds out that she is pregnant and is trying to get Stanley to marry her. Although he loves Frannie, he's not quite sure what to do. Frannie tells Stanley that she wants to get married.
Chico (Perry King) has got it bad for Jane Bradshaw and tries to impress her with his motorcycle. Jane shows no interest in Chico and is not impressed. Jane's dad an army colonel wants Chico to stay away from his daughter, and that causes Jane to become interested in Chico.
The Lords spend their time playing pool or scarfing down egg cremes at the local candy store. Rounding out the group are Butchey Weinstein (Henry Winkler) and Wimpy Margulo (Paul Mace). Butchey and Wimpy go along with Chico and Stanley in whatever they do.
The Lords of Flatbush is a film that explores all that is right about the 1950's. It is a film about a group of guys growing from being teenagers into young men ready for responsibilities. It shows how deep old friendships run and the loyalty these guy have towards each other. They will be connected to each other for the rest of their lives.
