It concerns a drama about a young Peruvian woman whose mother survived an ugly incident earlier, an event that left her emotionally and mentally distressed. The young woman, Fausta (played by Magaly Solier) lives in great fear as a result of her upbringing. The plot revolves around her reaction to the loss of a close family member. Scenes in the movie vividly depict life in suburban Lima and also rural Peru. The movie addresses the topic of state sponsored terror. Claudia Llosa directed the film.
