The Mountain of the Cannibal God is a horror/adventure movie from 1978, directed by Sergio Martino and starring Ursula Andress, Stacy Keach, and Claudio Cassinelli. The story takes place in New Guinea, where a group of adventurers led by the scientist Professor Foster (Stacy Keach) sets out to search for a missing ethnologist named Shirley (Ursula Andress). Shirley has gone on an expedition to find the legendary tribe of cannibals who worship a sacred mountain in the jungle. After failing to come back, Shirley's brother Arthur (Antonio Marsina) hires Foster to find and rescue her.

The group, consisting of Foster, his assistant, and Arthur, embark on their journey and soon meet up with local guides who agree to take them to the mountain. Along the way, they encounter various dangers, such as poisonous snakes, treacherous terrain, and hostile tribes. When they arrive at the mountain, they discover a hidden valley inhabited by the very tribe they are looking for. However, the tribe is not interested in visitors and captures the group, planning to sacrifice them to their gods.

The movie is filled with suspenseful and terrifying moments. The cannibal tribe is depicted as ruthless savages that show no mercy to their victims. The scenes of human sacrifice and cannibalism are shocking and disturbing, but they add to the realism of the story, which is based on real-life accounts of cannibal tribes in the New Guinea jungles.

Ursula Andress, who plays Shirley, is the highlight of the movie. She gives a strong performance as a woman determined to uncover the truth about the cannibal tribe, even if it means putting her own life in danger. Stacy Keach is also convincing as a determined and fearless scientist who will do anything to protect his team and complete his mission.

One of the strengths of the movie is its cinematography. The shots of the New Guinea jungle and the cannibal tribe's village are beautiful and enhance the movie's atmosphere. The musical score, composed by Guido and Maurizio De Angelis, is also noteworthy. It adds to the tension and suspense of the movie, especially during the scenes of human sacrifice and cannibalism.

Overall, The Mountain of the Cannibal God is an entertaining and suspenseful horror/adventure movie. It is not for the faint of heart due to its graphic scenes of violence and cannibalism, but it is a well-made movie with a strong cast and excellent cinematography. Fans of horror and adventure movies will enjoy this classic from the late 70s.
