The Prophecy 3: The Ascent

The Prophecy 3: The Ascent is the third installment in the Prophecy movies and was released in 2000. It was directed by Patrick Lussier and starred: Christopher Walken, Steve Hytner, Scott Cleverdon, Dave Buzzotta, Vincent Spano and Karyen Butler. It begins with the war in Heaven and the Angel of Genocides intention to destroy all of mankind. There is only one person that can stop, a Nephilim (half angel, half human) and he doesn't even realize it yet.

Danyael Rosales is a street preacher and is the Nephilim with unique abilities. Because he is part angel, he can regenerate after becoming injured and can only be killed by having his heart removed. After a failed assassination attempt on his life the archangel Gabriel (who acts as his guardian) explained what his purpose is on earth. Gabriel is now a fallen angel that has been turned human for all of his misdeeds and has taken it upon himself to see that good prevails.

The assassin was sent by Zophael to destroy him and since that attempt failed, Zophael with only a special bladed weapon plans on killing Danyael himself. There are twists and turns as Zophael tries to turn everyone against Danyael, including his own girlfriend. Soon he meets up with a Native American woman who has dreamed of this war and tells him that the time for battle is drawing near. Now Danyael realizes what he needs to do and sets out to find his enemies.

With the help of Maggie his girlfriend, Danyael defeats Zophael. Now, Danyael is left with no choice but to leave Gabriel to watch over Maggie and end the terror that is unfolding. Once more Danyael searches for Pyriel, armed with just the he retrieved from his match against Zophael and God on his side. The fate of mankind is in Danyael's hands and it is up to him to fulfill the destiny that has been bestowed upon him.
