The Railway Man is a World War II epic that stars Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman, and is based on the story of the Eric Lomax autobiography. Eric Lomax, a British officer, is captured and sent to a prisoner of war camp. While in camp Lomax is forced to work on the Thai-Burma Railway just north of Malaysia. When he wasn't being forced to work on the railroad, he was being tortured for his role in building a radio.

Years after his release, Lomax is suffering from a psychological condition known as post traumatic stress from his experience while being held captive. With the support from his wife Patti and his best friend Finlay, Lomax decides to track down and confront one of his tormentors. In an attempt to let go of a lifetime of bitter feelings and hatred Lomax returns to the scene of his torture after tracking down the man responsible for his pain and suffering.

The Railway Man is a 2014 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 56 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 7.1 and a MetaScore of 59.
