The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw is a western comedy film from 1958. It stars Kenneth More in the lead role of Jonathan Tibbs, a British salesman who is sent to the wild west to sell his family's rifles to the locals. Along the way, he gets mistaken for a tough sheriff and soon finds himself caught up in a slew of hilarious mishaps. The film begins with Tibbs traveling to the town of Fractured Jaw. He is initially thrilled to be in America and excited to make a big sale but quickly realizes that things are not going to be as easy as he thought. Upon arriving in Fractured Jaw, he is confronted by a group of tough cowboys who want to steal his wagon full of rifles.

In an effort to escape, Tibbs accidentally shoots one of the cowboys, who then assumes he is a skilled gunslinger. This is the beginning of a series of mistaken identities that Tibbs will have to navigate throughout the film.

Enter Henry Hull's character, Mayor Masters, who is impressed by Tibbs' supposed shooting skills and asks him to become the new sheriff of Fractured Jaw. Tibbs is reluctant at first but soon realizes that the job comes with some perks, including an attractive dance hall girl named Kate (played by the stunning Jayne Mansfield).

Tibbs decides to confront the town's criminal element, which includes the notorious outlaw Rumpo Kid (played by Robert Morley). He enlists the help of Kate and some of the town's citizens, including the bumbling deputy sheriff (played by Bruce Seton), who is constantly getting himself into trouble.

The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw is a delightful comedy filled with hilarious gags and witty one-liners. The chemistry between Kenneth More and Jayne Mansfield is fantastic, and they both deliver excellent performances. More's bumbling British salesman-turned-sheriff is a perfect foil for Mansfield's sultry dance hall girl.

The film's supporting cast is equally impressive. Henry Hull's Mayor Masters is a perfect example of a corrupt politician who is more interested in lining his own pockets than serving the people. Robert Morley's Rumpo Kid is an iconic villain, complete with a flashy wardrobe and a lust for power.

The film's humor is often slapstick, but it never feels forced or cheesy. The comedic timing is spot-on, and many of the jokes still hold up today. One of the film's most memorable scenes involves Tibbs trying to teach the deputy sheriff how to shoot, which leads to some hilarious misfires and mishaps.

Overall, The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw is an entertaining film that will leave you laughing from start to finish. It is a classic western comedy that deserves to be seen by a new generation of movie-goers. If you're a fan of comedy or westerns, this film is definitely worth checking out.

The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw is a 1958 western with a runtime of 1 hour and 43 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.0.
