Think of Me First as a Person (2006) is a heartwarming documentary about a boy, Dwight Core Jr. who has Down Syndrome. His father shot the footage as home movies in the 60s and 70s. Forty years later, Dwight Core Sr.’s grandson, George Inmire, discovered the footage and made this film. It examines how people perceive Down Syndrome, including Dwight Jr. himself and his family. The love and sincerity, expressed in the narration of the home movies by the father, provides a glimpse into his heart, as the family strives to cope with a special needs child.
