Thirupaachi is a 2005 Tamil action drama film directed by Perarasu, starring Joseph Vijay, Trisha Krishnan, and Kota Srinivasa Rao in lead roles. The movie is a typical commercial potboiler, with plenty of action, romance, comedy, and melodrama. The story revolves around Sivagiri (Joseph Vijay), a happy-go-lucky young man who lives in a small village in Tamil Nadu. He is an orphan who lives with his elder sister Karpagam (Mallika), and his childhood friend Maari (Chenai Express Senthil), who is also in love with Karpagam. Sivagiri is a hot-headed guy who hates injustice, and he often gets into trouble because of his quick temper. He falls in love with Subha (Trisha Krishnan), a beautiful college student who comes to his village for a research project.

Meanwhile, Sivagiri's uncle Thangapandi (Kota Srinivasa Rao), who is also the local MLA, is involved in various illegal activities, including land grabbing and extortion. Thangapandi is a ruthless man who will do anything to stay in power, and he sees Sivagiri as a threat to his authority because of his popularity among the villagers. Thangapandi and his henchmen try to eliminate Sivagiri, but he fights back with the help of his friends and well-wishers.

The movie is full of action, with plenty of fight scenes, chase sequences, and stunt sequences, most of which are choreographed well. The romantic track between Sivagiri and Subha is sweet and has some memorable moments, but it feels a bit forced at times. The comedy track, featuring Senthil and Vadivelu, is a bit hit and miss, with some jokes that are genuinely funny and some that fall flat.

The movie's highlight is Joseph Vijay's performance as Sivagiri, which is energetic and charismatic. He is convincing as an action hero, but he also shines in emotional scenes, especially in the scenes with his sister and with Subha. Trisha Krishnan, who was one of the top actresses in Tamil cinema at that time, looks gorgeous and plays her part well, but her role doesn't offer much scope for performance. Kota Srinivasa Rao is menacing as the main antagonist, and he delivers a solid performance. The supporting cast, including Mallika, Senthil, and Vadivelu, are okay, but they don't have much to do.

The movie's music, composed by Dhina, is decent, with some catchy tunes, but none of the songs are particularly memorable. The background score, by Vidyasagar, is effective in creating a tense atmosphere in the action scenes.

Overall, Thirupaachi is a decent masala entertainer that offers nothing new but does what it intends to do reasonably well. If you're a fan of Joseph Vijay or Tamil action movies, you might enjoy this one.
