Tickle Me is a comedy-western film directed by Norman Taurog and starring the king of rock and roll, Elvis Presley. The film is set in a remote Texas dude ranch, where Elvis portrays a singing rodeo cowboy named Lonnie Beale. The movie opens with Elvis, who is down on his luck, getting fired from his latest gig at a carnival. In desperation, he applies for a job at a dude ranch where he hopes to make some extra cash. The ranch, named Circle-Z, is run by Vera Radford (Julie Adams), who inherited it from her father. Vera and her sister, Barbara (Jocelyn Lane), are struggling to keep the ranch afloat financially and they hope that hiring a famous singer will boost business.

Upon arriving at the ranch, Elvis quickly becomes the object of affection for almost every female employee there, including Vera and Barbara. Despite attempts to keep his identity a secret and just work as a cowboy, Lonnie finds himself performing at a local nightclub, where he meets a wealthy heiress, Pam Merritt (Jocelyn Lane), who has a strange affinity for danger.

The movie follows a typical Elvis Presley formula of being light-hearted, featuring glamorous women, and singing musical numbers. The storyline is a little quirky and relies heavily on slapstick humour. As the movie progresses, there is an attempt to include a 'secret agent' subplot that feels out of place, but adds to the hilarity of the film.

The music in the movie is an integral part of it, with Elvis singing his heart out on almost every occasion. Some of the notable songs include "Long Lonely Highway," "It Feels So Right," and "Dirty, Dirty Feeling". Elvis' presence is magnetic, and it is easy to see why he dominated the entertainment industry at that time.

The female co-stars, Julie Adams and Jocelyn Lane, do well in their respective roles, but it is evident that they are just window-dressing for the real star of the show - Elvis Presley. The two actresses play their characters with the required amount of charm and wit, but at times it feels like their characters are a little too enamoured with Lonnie considering they have just met him.

The comedy in the movie is hit and miss. Some of the gags feel dated and clichéd, but there are also many moments that are genuinely funny. The film makes use of Tex Avery-style cartoon sound effects and slapstick humour to get laughs, which will likely appeal to younger viewers.

Overall, Tickle Me is an enjoyable movie that showcases the singing talent of Elvis Presley. The plot is easy to digest, and the musical numbers are entertaining. The film takes a few liberties with logic, and at times the humour might feel a little cheesy, but this should not detract from the overall enjoyable experience. The scenery of the ranch is also a treat to watch, and Elvis looks right at home in his cowboy gear.

Tickle Me is a 1965 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.8.
