The 2007 version of TMNT is a computer-animated action-adventure film directed by Kevin Munroe. It's the fourth movie in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise and is a CGI continuation of the original series. The movie is set in a world where the Turtles have gone their separate ways after defeating their archenemy, the Shredder. Leonardo is in Central America, training to become a true leader, Michelangelo is entertaining crowds as "Cowabunga Carl" in children's parties, Donatello is working on inventions in his laboratory, and Raphael is fighting crime alone as the masked vigilante, "The Nightwatcher."

Their quiet lives are interrupted when the ancient evil sorcerer, Yaotl, is released from his prison and seeks to retrieve thirteen magical monsters that will grant him immortality and ultimate power. This plot involves April O'Neil, the Turtles' friend and ally, and her new boss, shipping magnate Maximillian Winters, who is revealed to be Yaotl's human vessel.

The movie has plenty of action sequences, ranging from street fights to battles on rooftops and even a few chases on cars, bikes, and skateboards. The Turtles are depicted as agile and athletic fighters, using their weapons with precision and skill. Each turtle has a unique personality, voice, and style, and their interactions are both comical and heartwarming. Fans of the original series will recognize the Turtles' catchphrases, jokes, and quirks, but the characters also have some new developments and conflicts.

The movie introduces a new character, Casey Jones's daughter, Angel, who becomes Raphael's friend and love interest. The two share a similar sense of justice and struggle to balance their secret lives with their personal desires. The movie also explores the theme of family and loyalty, as the Turtles face challenges that put their bonds to the test. Leonardo doubts himself as a leader and struggles to reunite his brothers; Michelangelo feels left out and wants to be taken seriously; Donatello feels guilty for not being able to prevent the tragedy that befalls April; Raphael confronts his anger and recklessness and learns to trust others.

The movie features an impressive voice cast, with Patrick Stewart lending his deep and distinguished voice to the villainous Winters/Yaotl. Mako, who played Aku in the animated series Samurai Jack, voices Master Splinter, the Turtles' wise and caring mentor. Chris Evans, who would later become Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, voices Casey Jones, the hockey-masked vigilante who helps the Turtles. Sarah Michelle Gellar voices April O'Neil, reprising her role from the 2003 TMNT TV show.

The movie's animation is stylized and expressive, with dynamic camera angles, fluid movements, and detailed designs. The Turtles' appearances have been slightly altered, with smoother shells, bigger eyes, and more realistic textures, but they retain their iconic color-coding and weapon preferences. The movie's soundtrack features a mix of rock, rap, and orchestral music, with a few original songs that fit the mood and tone of the scenes.

Overall, TMNT is an entertaining and engaging adventure that pays homage to the classic animated series while adding its own twists and turns. It's a movie that will appeal to both old and new fans of the Turtles franchise, as well as to anyone who enjoys action-packed and witty animation. The movie's themes of friendship, heroism, and growth are universal and uplifting, making it a fun and inspiring ride for viewers of all ages.

TMNT is a 2007 adventure movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 27 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.2 and a MetaScore of 41.
