In this comedy/drama the son of an Italian cheese manufacturer is kidnapped and a ransom is demanded. The kidnappers will kill his son unless their demands are met. The owner is torn because he doesn't know for sure if his son has really been kidnapped or if he is still alive. He debates whether or not he should sell his factory to raise the money for the ransom.
