Underdogs is a coming-of-age film from Argentina that was released in 2013. It revolves around a small-town boy named Amadeo who has a passion for table football (foosball) and dreams of becoming a professional footballer. When he grows up, he faces the reality of the world and learns the significance of friends, teamwork, and courage.

The story begins with a flashback to Amadeo's early life, where he was gifted a foosball table by a traveling circus performer named Rolando. He quickly becomes obsessed with the game and spends most of his time playing against himself, perfecting his moves and strategies. He even invents imaginary players on the field to make it feel more realistic.

Years go by, and Amadeo grows up to be a reclusive and introverted man, who always carries his foosball table with him wherever he goes. His only friend is a girl named Laura, whom he has known since childhood. She tries to bring him out of his shell but is often unsuccessful. This changes when a wealthy businessman named Flash arrives in town and wants to buy the land occupied by Amadeo's village to build a new stadium. Flash is a skilled foosball player and challenges Amadeo to a game. Amadeo, who has never played against another person before, is hesitant but accepts the challenge.

To Amadeo's surprise, his foosball players come to life and help him win the game against Flash. They are revealed to be the imaginary players he had invented during his childhood. However, Flash is not amused and vows to return with a team of his own to play against Amadeo's village. Amadeo, realizing the threat that Flash poses, sets out on a mission to gather a team of his own to play against Flash and protect his village from being destroyed.

Amadeo's team is made up of a group of misfits, including a cigar-smoking playboy named Rico, a rotund chef named Beto, and even Laura's dog, Capi. Amadeo coaches them relentlessly and teaches them the art of teamwork and strategy. He also has to confront his own insecurities and fears, including the fear of losing, which threatens to sabotage his efforts.

The big game between Amadeo's team and Flash's team is the climax of the film. It is an intense and exciting match, filled with twists and turns, and the fate of the village hangs in the balance. Will Amadeo's team emerge victorious, or will Flash succeed in destroying the village and building his stadium?

Overall, Underdogs is a captivating film that will resonate with audiences of all ages. It is a classic David vs. Goliath story, where the underdogs come together to fight against the odds and protect their way of life. The animation is beautifully done, and the voice acting is superb, particularly that of D.B. Sweeney who brings Amadeo to life with his heartfelt performance. The film also touches on themes of friendship, loyalty, and the importance of chasing your dreams, which are all important life lessons. All in all, Underdogs is a heartwarming and entertaining film that is perfect for a family movie night.
