Valentine is a horror/thriller film released in 2001, directed by Jamie Blanks, and produced by Dylan Sellers. The movie features a cast of Hollywood stars including Denise Richards, David Boreanaz, Marley Shelton, Katherine Heigl, and Jessica Capshaw. It is based on the novel of the same name by Tom Savage. Valentine is a story of four girlfriends, Paige (Denise Richards), Kate (Marley Shelton), Lily (Jessica Capshaw), and Dorothy (Jessica Cauffiel), who reunite after many years to attend their high school reunion. The girls have all grown up and changed, but they still share a bond that brings them together after all this time. The reunion takes place on Valentine's Day, which proves to be important to the plot and the characters.

However, their happy reunion is short-lived when they become targets of a mysterious and vengeful killer, who starts stalking and killing them one by one. The killer is someone who they all knew from their past, but can't seem to identify who it is. It becomes a game of cat and mouse for the girls as they try to stay alive and unmask the killer.

As the killer continues to taunt the girls with gifts and letters signed "From Your Valentine", the group becomes more desperate and panicked. They turn to their respective love interests for help, but instead find themselves being confronted with even more danger and betrayal.

David Boreanaz plays Adam, a photographer with a mysterious past, who develops a crush on Kate, and becomes one of the girls' prime suspects. Denise Richards plays Paige, a wealthy, beautiful, and manipulative woman who often uses her looks and wealth to get what she wants. Marley Shelton plays Kate, a timid and nerdy girl who is now a successful lawyer but doesn't seem to have a lot of luck when it comes to love.

The movie is full of suspense, with well-executed jump scares and plot twists that keep the viewer guessing until the end. The film is not a gore-fest by any means but is still quite violent and disturbing at times.

Valentine is a typical slasher film of the early 2000s, complete with a masked killer, a group of naive victims, and a lot of blood. However, unlike some other horror movies of its time, Valentine has more of a sense of humor to it, and the movie embraces a sense of self-awareness that makes it slightly more enjoyable. The movie attempts to subvert some of the usual slasher clichés by not simply sticking to the usual gender roles, and the ending is satisfying.

In conclusion, Valentine is a solid horror/thriller that offers a fun and suspenseful ride. It's definitely not a classic horror movie but is still entertaining to watch, especially for fans of the slasher genre. David Boreanaz, Denise Richards, and Marley Shelton all give good performances, and the movie offers a satisfying and unpredictable ending.

Valentine is a 2001 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 36 minutes. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.9 and a MetaScore of 18.
