In the fourth installment of the popular National Lampoon's Vacation series, audiences are taken on a wild ride through the bright lights and big casinos of Las Vegas. The film begins with the Griswold family patriarch, Clark (Chevy Chase), experiencing a mid-life crisis and feeling like he's stuck in a rut. In an effort to spice up his life and reconnect with his family, Clark decides to take his wife, Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo), and their two teenage children, Rusty and Audrey, on a family vacation to Las Vegas.

Once they arrive in Sin City, the Griswolds quickly get swept up in the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas lifestyle. They check into the Mirage hotel, where they are upgraded to an exclusive penthouse suite. Clark is thrilled to be treated like a high-roller, but things quickly spiral out of control as the family becomes entangled in all manner of Vegas shenanigans.

They hit the casinos, where they meet a colorful cast of characters including a wealthy businessman named Sid (Sid Caesar) and his beautiful daughter (Marisol Nichols), and a shady blackjack dealer named Marty (Wallace Shawn). They also run into their old nemesis, cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid), who is now living in a broken-down RV outside of the city.

The Griswolds' adventures in Vegas include everything from winning big at the craps table to getting lost in the desert to breaking into a private party at Wayne Newton's mansion. Along the way, they learn some valuable lessons about family, friendship, and the true meaning of happiness.

The film features Chevy Chase at his comedic best, with his trademark deadpan delivery and physical comedy. Beverly D'Angelo is a perfect foil for Chase, playing the long-suffering wife who must put up with her husband's antics. Randy Quaid steals the scenes he's in as the lovable redneck Eddie, who is always getting into trouble. The supporting cast is excellent as well, with appearances by many well-known Vegas performers including Wayne Newton, Siegfried and Roy, and Coolio.

The soundtrack is a mix of classic Vegas tunes and original songs, with highlights including Newton's rendition of "Danke Schoen" and Chase's hilarious cover of "I Found a Million Dollar Baby." The film's colorful cinematography captures the neon-lit streets of Las Vegas at their most vibrant, and the production design is top-notch, with each casino and hotel looking like a fantasyland come to life.

Overall, Vegas Vacation is a fun and lighthearted comedy that will appeal to fans of the National Lampoon's Vacation series as well as anyone who loves a good laugh. While it may not be as iconic as the original film, it stands on its own as a worthy addition to the franchise. So if you're looking for a movie that will make you smile and leave you feeling good, look no further than Vegas Vacation.

Vegas Vacation is a 1997 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 33 minutes. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.9 and a MetaScore of 20.
