Fisherman Ford Lofton's wife dies in a horseback riding accident which makes him decide to forbid his two daughters from riding horses ever again. The youngest of the daughters, Virginia, refuses to let her mothers' misfortune decide her fate and begins taking care of a young foal named Stormy. When Ford threatens to sell Stormy, Virginia turns to the local horse trainer, Jessie Eastwood, to help her change Ford's mind.
