In the 1999 movie Virus, a salvage tugboat named the Sea Star, captained by Robert Everton (played by Donald Sutherland), stumbles upon a seemingly abandoned Russian research ship in the middle of a storm. The crew of the Sea Star, including Kit Foster (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) and Steve Baker (played by William Baldwin), board the ship in hopes of finding salvageable items. However, they soon discover that the ship's crew has been wiped out by a strange electronic virus that has taken over the ship.

The virus, which originated from a malfunctioning alien satellite, has created biomechanical creatures that use human flesh to create more of themselves. These creatures are able to manipulate electrical and mechanical systems, making them formidable opponents for the Sea Star's crew. The crew soon realizes they are not alone on the ship and must fight for their survival against the virus and its monstrous offspring.

Robert Everton is the first to fall victim to the virus, leaving Kit and Steve to take charge of the situation. The two must work together to come up with a plan to destroy the virus before it spreads to the mainland. In their journey, they encounter Nadia Vinogradova (played by Joanna Pacula), a Russian scientist who was part of the original crew of the research ship. Nadia has managed to survive by hiding in a separate section of the ship.

As the three of them traverse through the ship, they come across the virus's central "brain", an enormous organic construct created by the virus itself. In order to destroy the virus, the team must first destroy its central core. They soon realize that the solution lies in using the ship's nuclear weapons against the virus. In order to do so, they must find a way to safely launch the weapons without causing a nuclear explosion.

As they work to create a makeshift bomb to destroy the virus, the monsters get closer and closer to their location. They finally succeed in developing the bomb, but they must now get it to the central core of the virus. This presents a dangerous and difficult task, as the virus's creatures are now in hot pursuit.

The film's climax takes place as the crew fights their way through the ship to reach the central core. With the virus's monsters hot on their trail, they finally reach the core and detonate the bomb, sending the virus and the ship up in flames. In the end, the Sea Star's crew makes their escape safely, but not without suffering significant losses.

Overall, the movie Virus is a thrilling sci-fi horror film that delivers plenty of suspenseful action and gripping tension. The performances by the cast are solid, and the creature design is both inventive and creepy. While the film may not be for everyone due to its violent and gory content, those who enjoy sci-fi horror will find it to be a satisfyingly terrifying experience.

Virus is a 1999 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.0 and a MetaScore of 19.
