Vishwatma is a 1992 Hindi action thriller film directed by Rajiv Rai. It stars Naseeruddin Shah, Sunny Deol, Chunky Pandey, and Divya Bharti in lead roles. The film follows the lives of seven men who were sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering a businessman. After a few years, a mysterious woman named Kusum (Divya Bharti) approaches them to help her find her missing father. The men agree to help her and set out on a daring mission to unravel the truth.

The film opens with Amar (Sunny Deol), an honest and hardworking police officer who is on a mission to catch the notorious criminal, Balwant Balu (Naseeruddin Shah). Balu has always eluded the police and is a master criminal who runs a vast empire of illegal activities. In the meantime, seven men named Akash (Chunky Pandey), Prabhat (Praveen Kumar), Pratap (Viju Khote), Shakti (Gulshan Grover), Vijay (Jyotsna Singh), Jai (Sharat Saxena) and Ravi (Dan Dhanoa) are sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering a businessman.

Years later, Kusum approaches them with a request to help her find her missing father who was last seen with Balu. The men see this as a chance to redeem themselves and agree to help her. They set out on a dangerous mission to track down Balu, who has gone into hiding after the police started closing in on him. As they delve deeper into the case, they realize that there's more to it than what meets the eye.

The film has an interesting plot that keeps the viewer engaged throughout. The screenplay, written by Rajiv Rai and Shabbir Boxwala, is full of twists and turns that keep the audience guessing. The action scenes are well-choreographed, and the cinematography by Damodar Naidu is impressive. The film also has some memorable songs, including the popular number, Saat Samundar Paar.

The performances by the lead actors are noteworthy. Naseeruddin Shah shines in the role of Balwant Balu, the cunning criminal who always manages to escape from the police. His portrayal of the character is nuanced and convincing. Sunny Deol, as usual, is excellent in the role of Amar. His intense performance adds depth to the character. Chunky Pandey, who plays Akash, impresses with his comic timing and subtle acting. Divya Bharti, in her debut performance, is charming and natural.

One of the highlights of the film is the chemistry between the seven men. They have distinct personalities and quirks, which makes their friendship believable. Their camaraderie is heartwarming, and their banter provides some much-needed comic relief in the otherwise intense film.

Overall, Vishwatma is an entertaining film that holds up well even today. Its engaging plot, impressive performances, and memorable songs have made it a cult classic. The film is a must-watch for fans of the action-thriller genre.
