In the post-apocalyptic landscape of the future, the world has been plunged into chaos and destruction. Society has crumbled, and a new breed of ruthless and power-hungry leaders has emerged to dominate the scattered remnants of humanity. Into this bleak and dangerous world comes the Warrior of the Lost World, a mysterious and skilled warrior who is determined to fight back against the forces of evil and restore order to the land.

The movie begins with our hero, simply known as The Rider, cruising through the barren wasteland on his trusty motorcycle. He's a lone wolf, a man of few words, but you can tell from his rugged appearance and the determined set of his jaw that he's not to be messed with. Soon enough, The Rider finds himself caught up in a battle between two rival factions. One is led by the villainous Prossor (played with relish by Donald Pleasence), a mad scientist who has developed a powerful weapon that he hopes will enable him to conquer the entire world. The other is a group of rebels, led by a beautiful woman named Nastasia (played by Persis Khambatta), who are determined to thwart Prossor's evil plans.

As The Rider becomes involved in the conflict, he finds himself drawn closer to Nastasia and her cause. Together, they must navigate treacherous terrain, battle deadly mutants, and face off against Prossor and his minions. Along the way, The Rider discovers that he has unique abilities that make him the perfect warrior to take on Prossor's army. But he must also confront his own demons and past traumas as he fights to save the world and restore justice to a broken society.

The film is a classic example of the '80s post-apocalyptic action genre, with all the requisite elements: badass hero, evil villain, gorgeous heroine, crazy weapons, and lots of explosions. But what sets Warrior of the Lost World apart from similar films of its time is its combination of high-octane action and quirky humor. The movie doesn't take itself too seriously, and there are plenty of tongue-in-cheek moments that will make you chuckle even as you're rooting for The Rider to beat the bad guys.

One of the standout performances in the film comes from Donald Pleasence, who is clearly having a blast as the maniacal Prossor. His performance is over-the-top and hammy, but in the best possible way. You can tell that he's relishing every moment of his time onscreen, and he steals every scene he's in. Persis Khambatta is also excellent as Nastasia, bringing a strong and fierce presence to the role of a rebel leader who is just as capable in battle as The Rider himself.

Robert Ginty, who plays The Rider, is perhaps the weakest link in the film. He's not a terrible actor by any means, but his performance is a bit wooden, and he doesn't quite have the gravitas to carry the movie on his own. However, he's more than capable when it comes to the action scenes, and he's clearly having fun zipping around on his motorcycle and blowing things up.

One of the most memorable aspects of the film is its production design. The post-apocalyptic world that The Rider inhabits is a strange and fantastical place, full of oddball vehicles, bizarre costumes, and strange mutated creatures. The overall aesthetic is a bit like Mad Max meets Flash Gordon, with a healthy dose of Italian sci-fi thrown in for good measure. The special effects and makeup are a bit cheesy by modern standards, but they're charming in their own way, and they add to the film's unique charm.

Overall, Warrior of the Lost World is a fun and entertaining '80s action movie that fans of the genre will love. It's not a masterpiece by any means, but it's a solid popcorn flick that delivers on its promise of high-octane thrills and lots of explosions. If you're in the mood for some cheesy post-apocalyptic fun, you could do a lot worse than spending an hour and a half with The Rider and his trusty motorcycle.

Warrior of the Lost World is a 1984 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 32 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 2.6.
