We Are Not Angels is a Serbian comedy-drama film directed by Srdjan Dragojevic that was released in 1992. The film tells the story of two small-time criminals, Uliks (Nikola Kojo) and Sheki (Milena Pavlovic), who unexpectedly find themselves in charge of taking care of a little girl named Daca (Branka Katic). The two men, who are used to living life on their own terms and not having any responsibilities, find it difficult to handle their new role as guardians.

The film is set in Belgrade, Serbia, and follows a classic storyline of two best friends who are always on the lookout for their next big score. Uliks, who is the brains of the duo, devises a plan to rob a wealthy couple's house, but things don't go as planned. The couple catches them in the act, and they end up taking Daca, their daughter, hostage. The couple agrees to let them go if they take care of the girl for a couple of days until they return from their trip.

Uliks and Sheki reluctantly agree to take care of Daca until they can figure out what to do next. The two men quickly realize that taking care of a child is much harder than they had anticipated, and they struggle to keep their criminal activities a secret from her. The rest of the film follows their hilarious and heartwarming antics as they try to navigate their newfound parental responsibilities.

One of the strengths of the film is the chemistry between the three main characters. Nikola Kojo and Milena Pavlovic give outstanding performances as the two petty criminals who are out of their depth with their new role as guardians to a young girl. They deliver their comedic lines perfectly, and their chemistry on screen is infectious. Branka Katic, who plays Daca, also gives a great performance as the young girl caught in the middle of their criminal activities.

Apart from the comedic moments, the film also touches on some deeper themes, such as the importance of family and the consequences of our actions. Despite their flaws, Uliks and Sheki eventually learn to care for Daca and become somewhat of a makeshift family. The film also shows the dangers of a life of crime and the impact it has on those around us.

The movie features beautiful cinematography that captures the essence of the city of Belgrade. The camera work is particularly impressive during the chase scenes, which are well choreographed and exciting to watch.

Overall, We Are Not Angels is a charming and entertaining film that showcases the talents of its stars and the director. The film was a hit in Serbia and would go on to become an international success. It is widely regarded as one of the best Serbian films of all time and is still popular with audiences today. If you enjoy films that are both comedic and heartwarming, then We Are Not Angels is definitely worth a watch.
