What's Bugging Seth is a coming-of-age indie film that delves into the complicated world of a teenager with Asperger's Syndrome. The movie explores the struggles that Seth (played by Ross Thomas) faces in his daily life as he confronts the challenges of adolescence and the judgment of his peers. Seth is a quirky 18-year-old who is obsessed with bugs and has difficulty interacting with others. He lives with his single mother, who is supportive but overprotective, and attends a special school for kids with disabilities. Seth's primary goal in life is to become an entomologist and work at the Natural History Museum.

As the movie progresses, we see Seth struggle to fit in with his peers and form meaningful relationships. He is bullied at school by a group of jocks who refuse to accept him for who he is, and he has a hard time expressing his feelings to his crush, Miranda (played by Ryann Campos).

While Seth is dealing with all of this, his mother is anxiously trying to protect him from the world and encourage him to socialize more. She pushes him to join a support group for kids with Asperger's, which leads to a hilarious scene where Seth tries to navigate his way through a conversation about his feelings.

One of the main conflicts in the movie is Seth's relationship with his brother, who he has a strained relationship with. His brother, who is played by David Fine, is the opposite of Seth - popular, successful, and athletic. He constantly belittles Seth and seems to have little patience for his quirks and idiosyncrasies.

Despite all of the challenges that Seth faces, he is determined to overcome them and pursue his dreams. He works hard to develop his knowledge of bugs and eventually gains the courage to confront his bullies and stand up for himself. The film ends with Seth going on a class trip to the Natural History Museum, where he meets a renowned entomologist who offers him an internship.

Overall, What's Bugging Seth is a heartwarming and honest portrayal of what it's like to live with Asperger's Syndrome. Ross Thomas does an excellent job of capturing the nuances of a neurodiverse individual, and the supporting cast is equally impressive. The film is both funny and touching, and it's a great reminder that everyone, no matter how different or quirky, deserves to be accepted for who they are.
