Wisegal, a 2008 crime thriller, is a movie that tells the story of one woman's journey from being a struggling single mother to a successful mafia insider. The movie stars Alyssa Milano, Jason Gedrick, and Janet Wright in lead roles. The story features Patty Montanari (Alyssa Milano), a struggling single mother working as a hairdresser in Brooklyn. Montanari has a 6-year-old son, and she wants to provide him with the best life possible. However, she becomes entangled in a drug-dealing scheme, and before she knows it, she's neck-deep in debt.

Montanari turns to local mobster Frank Russo (Jason Gedrick), who offers her a way out of her financial troubles. She becomes Russo's right-hand woman and runs his operations with the utmost efficiency. Russo takes Montanari under his wing and begins to train her in the ways of the mafia.

As she rises through the ranks of the organization, Montanari becomes unbeatable in the eyes of her enemies, loyal to her boss, and the ultimate femme fatale, capable of seducing and destroying any man in her path. However, as she becomes a more powerful figure in the organization, Montanari begins to question her own morality and whether she can keep living this life forever.

The direction by Jerry Ciccoritti adds a strong sense of realism to the story, with shots of gritty Brooklyn and the rundown buildings where Montanari lives and works. Ciccoritti's directing makes the movie feel like a slice of life rather than just another mobster movie.

Alyssa Milano is perfect casting as the central character, bringing a sense of vulnerability to Montanari. Milano does a great job of showing the character's inner conflict as she becomes torn between her newfound power and her moral compass. Moreover, she has great chemistry with Jason Gedrick, who brings a sense of danger to Frank Russo.

The supporting cast is also fantastic, with Janet Wright providing excellent support as Montanari's mother. She delivers some of the movie's most poignant moments and is an integral part of what makes the movie so compelling.

Another standout performer is Gabriel Hogan, who plays Montanari's love interest, Greg. He brings a refreshing sense of innocence to the movie and acts as a contrast to the darker elements of the story.

Despite its heavy subject matter, Wisegal never becomes too dark or violent. Instead, the movie is more interested in the psychological aspects of the story and the moral dilemmas that Montanari faces as she climbs the ranks of the mafia.

The script by John Burd is well-written, with smart dialogue and memorable characters. It's a character-driven story that doesn't rely on cheap thrills or action scenes to keep the audience engaged. The pacing of the movie is also well-done, and there are no dull moments.

Overall, Wisegal is an excellent mafia movie that stands out for its strong performances, realistic direction, and thought-provoking storyline. Anyone looking for a thrilling, character-driven movie that explores the darker side of human nature should give it a watch.
