Marni finally gets the chance to meet her brother girlfriend, Joanna. Joanna just can't seem to understand who Marni is, and she finds that she fits in very well with the family. She obviously knows how to treat people now compared to her past, but it is later on revealed that she was just pretending not to know Marni to see if they can start over. The story continues on with Joanna's Aunt being Marni's Mother, Gail's best friend in high school but were also enemies at the same time. While Marni and Joanna end up getting into different kinds of fights and forms of revenge, Gail and Joanna's Aunt also have a set of small rivalries take place.
The movie continues showcasing how they all fight and try to beat out each other with different ways to show off and be better than the other. Both of the rivalries are very funny and have plenty of jokes take place. However, the story has been considered by many people to still be enjoyable because of the usage of forgiveness in the story.
