Doctor Who has been beloved in Britain for half a century, but his fame in America has only recently begun to rise. Ratings for the series' Christmas special on BBC America, however, suggest that a sizable number of Americans are already excited by the Doctor.

When it comes to stuff you want in your neighborhood, TV cameras, loud parties, reckless driving and disrespectful young people are probably not going to make the list. That's why Americans don't want to live down the street from Justin Bieber or Kim Kardashian.

Nothing's worse than trying to stream that movie you've been meaning to watch on Netflix, only to discover that it's no longer available. It could happen to you soon, because dozens of popular movies will no longer be streamable on the service after the New Year.

Carrie Underwood didn't exactly get rave reviews for her role in NBC's "The Sound of Music Live!," but she did get impressive ratings. Does that mean she's replaced Julie Andrews as viewers' favorite Maria? Not necessarily.

When they're shopping for Christmas gifts, consumers are apparently more willing to shell out cash for a newly released DVD than they are to buy a theater ticket for the same movie. That could explain why "The Lone Ranger" was one of the top-selling videos when it hit stores just before the holiday.

Bilbo Baggins is one persistent Hobbit. "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" continued its strong box-office run on Christmas Day, proving more popular than all the day's new releases. Justin Bieber, on the other hand, wasn't popular with much of anyone.

If you're looking for something to watch on TV while you wait for Santa this Christmas Eve, you've got plenty to choose from on both network and cable channels. The holiday programming is on the air right now, and it won't stop until long after all the presents are opened.

Miley Cyrus is at it again. The "Wrecking Ball" singer took to Instagram, her usual venue for half-naked photos, and posted something new...a half-naked video. "'Adore You' December 26th premier on Vevo," Miley wrote, announcing the premiere of her newest music video. Along with the message, Miley included a short teaser of the video, which could easily be mistaken for a sex tape out of context.
