You’ve Got Tyra Mail

The young Tyra-nistas of America’s Next Top Model got a lesson in fame, which importantly focused on how to deal with all those pesky-demanding fans the winner is guaranteed to walk home with.

In this episode, the all-knowing mail from Tyra told the girls they “would have a real following.”  The word “real” should be taken lightly, as it’s clear the aspiring supermodels don’t actually have fans – yet.

The beauties are thrown smack dab in the middle of crazy fans (or actors who are paid to get dramatically wacky with the models). One obsessive fan insists on getting a kiss from Monique. She diverts him to Alexandria, who ultimately gives him a smooch on the cheek. Both models will suffer judgment for this awkward scenario later.

Monique is rude, they say while Alexandria is creating stalker-potential.  Kasia wins the challenge for being friendly with fans, while modeling all the way.  She, Jaclyn and Brittani are awarded a night out with Miss Jay. Monique, who was already critized for her bad attitude, calls the prize lame.

Smile: Photoshoot

As the girls get dirty with a mud smearing photoshoot, the brunettes and blondes are divided in to two teams for group photos. Alexandria attempts to take over (which is alienating her from her housemates all the more) and Kasia acts self-conscious in her bikini.

The Judgement

Sonia Dara, the first South Asian model to grace Sports Illustrated, serves as guest judge. The photos are great for both groups, but the brunette picture turns the “Blondes have more fun” saying on it’s head. It’s something natural, sensual, and all around fierce. Mikaela and Monique end up in the bottom. Mikaela’s lackluster eyes will get to go another round, as Monique is sent home.
