Check Out the First Photo of the New 'Charlie's Angels': Minka Kelly, Annie Ilonzeh and Rachael Taylor
It's the year of the 1970's remakes apparently, as there is not only a "Wonder Woman" pilot in the works, but ABC also has an updated version of "Charlie's Angels" looking to be picked up. Seriously, did these network executives just find the room with all the 1970's shows in it? Is that what's going on here?
Just as "Wonder Woman" is attempting to modernize its story and characters, so is "Charlie's Angels." Reports say that the show will be a "fairly serious, non-campy" take, and that this time around the Angels will be criminals who are given a second chance by Charlie. The new show will be set in Miami, and pretty much seems a lock to be picked up.
Helping the pilot's cause are the three leading actresses: Minka Kelly ("Friday Night Lights"), Annie Ilonzeh ("General Hospital"), and Rachael Taylor ("Grey's Anatomy") will be playing the Angels. The first photo of the three castmates has been released, and they all certainly look the part.
Drew Barrymore, who starred in the movie adaptations, is producing. Hopefully she won't take away the Angels' guns like she did in the films.
