Fourth 'Mission Impossible' and 'The Adventures of TinTin' Get New Holiday Release Dates

If there's an actual calendar you keep with movie-release dates penciled in, bust out the eraser - or, as the case may be, the white-out. Change is afoot, according to Deadline.
The most "blockbuster" of the bunch being moved about is Tom Cruise's fourth and final bow as Ethan Hunt in "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol." The espionage thrill-ride was initially set for a Dec. 21 opening in theaters everywhere. Paramount called an audible, and select theaters will now start previews in select standard theaters and IMAX five days early on Fri., Dec. 16.
Paramount similarly bumped up when Steven Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn" will hit theaters. Initially, the studio had it releasing everywhere Dec. 23. This week, Paramount announced that it would instead hit theaters two days earlier on Dec. 21 and butt heads with Sony and David Fincher's anticipated adaptation "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo."
It's not like the week was getting any slower. That same week, movie-goers could also be flocking to Cameron Crowe's "We Bought A Zoo" or the Angelina Jolie-directed drama "In The Land Of Blood And Honey."
Spielberg's "War Horse" once would've hit theaters Dec. 28, but that's changed, too. It now hits theaters Christmas Day, alongside the sci-fi thriller "The Darkest Hour," and the limited release of Warner Bros. "Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close."
