'House' Paging Actress Charlyne Yi
Charlyne Yi might be comfortable dealing with "Paper Hearts" but now she might find herself operating on real ones. Or at least her character might, as the comedian has been tapped to join Fox's medical drama "House" as a new series regular.
The ailing medical show has been bleeding female cast members for it's eight and likely to be final season. First main cast member Lisa Edelstein, who played sometimes love interest to Hugh Laurie's Dr. Gregory House, checked out of Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital. Next it was Amber Tablyn handing in her pink slip. Even Thirteen herself, Olivia Wilde, will only appear in a limited number of episodes.
With last season a critical flop, "House" appears to be on it's last legs. The upcoming eight season is widely presumed by most to be the show's last. To keep "House" from becoming all dudes all the time, the producers have also recently hired "Breaking In" star Odette Annable to a prison doctor.
Yi is most likely best known for her scene stealing in Judd Apatow's movie "Knocked Up". She also starred with Michael Cera in the romantic comedy/hybrid documentary "Paper Heart", which she also co-wrote and produced.
But she's probably best known for her quirky sense of humor and comedy stylings. Her frequent trips to the "Conan" couch have resulted in hilarious and awkward conversations and even a short with Jon Hamm.
Will Yi be able to bring some quirky fun to "House"? Or is her casting a mistake?
