Jimmy Kimmel Tears Up During Uncle Frank Tribute (VIDEO)

Jimmy Kimmel Tears Up During Uncle Frank Tribute (VIDEO) We don't often get to see late night host Jimmy Kimmel taking something seriously, but last night was the exception. Kimmel aired the tribute segment for Frank Potenza, aka Jimmy's Uncle Frank.

The segment featured a moving speech by Kimmel as well as a clip montage of Uncle Frank. While Kimmel's words were heartfelt, they weren't without humor.

"He wanted to be oldest living retired police officer in New York City not because he wanted to set a record or be in the paper; he just wanted to stick them for another 25 years of pension checks."

Kimmel was moved to tears as he spoke about the support Uncle Frank received not only from family, but from friends and crew members of the show as well.

"And I wanna say thanks to my co-workers who talked to him and visited him and picked him up 12 hours early for work. He loved you. And thanks to all of you who came to the show and watched, for indulging me and letting me put my crazy uncle on television."

The clip montage brings back some great memories of Frank's many appearances on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," and concludes with a bit of an epitaph: "Uncle Frank: A wonderful man. A terrible singer."
