VIDEO: Watch 'The Glee Project' Cast Perform Katy Perry's 'Firework'
The premiere of "The Glee Project" is under way, and Ryan Murphy thinks he might have more than one winner: "We were like, ‘You really have something and even though you’re not right for this show, we’re going to make sure you get something in the entertainment industry," Murphy told THR.
"The Glee Project," which will air on Oxygen starting Sunday, June 12th, puts 12 contestants against each other to find the one that's most worthy of a spot on "Glee." The winner will have a seven-episode arc on season three of "Glee," an opportunity most dancing, singing actors would kill for.
It does seem like he has a pretty talented bunch, and you can see them for yourself in a sneak preview video that Oxygen released over the weekend. The video showcases the 12 contestants on the show, who were chosen through nationwide auditions, singing Katy Perry's "Firework."
While they're all pretty good (it sounds like one of the guys might even be able to sing higher than Chris Colfer), they're noticeably less polished than the current "Glee" cast members. It will be interesting to see how they improve as the show plays out.
