Ep 1. And the Reality Problem

Max and Caroline are back in the game with their highly-favored sitcom "2 Broke Girls", premiering its Episode 1 of Season 4 dubbed "And the Reality Problem".

The episode starts with Max and Caroline having finally put their $250,000 cupcake t-shirt trademark fund and opening their cupcake shop in Williamsburg which has been given a rave reception, but less than what they expected. After a week-long trial, the girls are told that they need to upstage their brand identity with the "hip and trendy" Williamsburg scene, which they know little about. Eventually, Max and Caroline both settle on trying to fit in with their new cool persona, with Caroline donning a jelly and mayonnaise sandwich and sporting a pair of Dolce & Gabbana boots that resemble an ambulance while Max goes ahead to insult Hipsters while wearing a fake beard that resembles a "Homeless person gone crazy". The girls then go on to try and appeal to the cool and trendy people in Williamsburg, but it doesn't exactly fill the cupcake stakes with too many orders.

Apart from their new-found Brooklyn persona, the two girls are also struggling with keeping their eyes open due to the lack of sleep brought on by the renovation going on next to the cupcake shop, that one of their neighbor's has recently purchased. The construction noises only add to the rising tension between the two friends, leading them to question the authenticity behind the perfection of the Brooklyn lifestyle they've been trying to mirror.

As an outlet to vent their frustrations, Max and Caroline each take on separate jobs in a "mannequin house" to fill their time with away from running the shop. Max is beguiled by a guy who just walked into the store, but he plays a big game, outsmarting her in the end. Caroline, on the other hand, has the opportunity to make friends and find a common ground with some hip and quirky girls, delighting them with her knowledge of the Uptown fashion scene, much to their surprise.

As the episode progresses, Caroline's desire to fit in with the Brooklyn crew takes an unexpected turn when she is invited to an underground fashion show featuring her new mannequin-house friends, which she accepts, while Max struggles to open up on her new date.

The gang then convenes on the new venue for the underground fashion show, with Max by Caroline's side as they mingle with the hipster milieu, all while sipping a "Romulan Ale". The duo makes a hilarious moment by introducing themselves to the crowded room, admitting that although they were not Brooklyn natives like their audience, they stole ideas from Google and Wikipedia just so they could keep both their cupcake shop and reputation.

Overall, Episode 1 of Season 4 of "2 Broke Girls" is a memorable first entry, brimming with humor and wit not to mention the ongoing drama that viewers can expect from the whimsical duo of Max and Caroline. The episode is an amalgamation of craziness, innovative thinking, and the funniest stunts the two have planned to date.
