Ep 6. And the Model Apartment

Max and Caroline are back in action in the hilarious season 4 episode 6 of 2 Broke Girls, which is titled And the Model Apartment. As the title suggests, the ladies are trying to secure a high-end apartment for a new client of theirs - a supermodel named Clara portrayed by Sandra Bernhard.

The episode opens with Max and Caroline struggling to make ends meet while also trying to build their cupcake business. They hit the jackpot when Clara walks into their store, impressed by their quality of service and the cupcakes' taste. Clara wants the duo to help her secure a swanky apartment in the city.

Max and Caroline are over the moon with the opportunity, but before they begin the hunt for the perfect apartment, they need to know their client well, so they scout around on social media, and they discover that Clara is in a relationship with a woman named Esmeralda, played by Broadway star Patti LuPone.

Max and Caroline head over to Clara's current location, intending to get to know Esmeralda better and convince her to support Clara's decision to move to the city. However, Esmeralda does not seem too thrilled about the prospect of the move, and her reluctance causes the ladies to look for more appealing apartments to sway the supermodel's decision.

As Max and Caroline struggle to find the perfect apartment for Clara, they cross paths with a couple of familiar faces – Dave Foley and Mary Lynn Rajskub. Dave Foley plays a drunk and shady real estate agent who shows them some pretty awful places, while Rajskub's character is a painter who's commissioned to paint the ladies' old apartment.

Max, Caroline, and Clara finally find their dream apartment, and they're ecstatic. However, they still need to secure Esmeralda's approval, so they ask her to come over and check the place out. While Esmeralda is pleased with the apartment, they soon discover her real concern - Clara's traveling schedule. As a supermodel, Clara is always on the go, and Esmeralda feels that the apartment will be wasted as Clara will never be able to spend enough time there.

Max and Caroline try to come up with a solution to convince Esmeralda, and after some brainstorming, they hit on the idea of turning the apartment into a classy Airbnb, making sure that the apartment generates enough revenue to justify keeping it even when Clara is out of town.

Dave Foley's role as the dodgy real estate agent has shades of his earlier roles, but Rajskub's contribution is minimal. The episode is carried by the talents of Sandra Bernhard and Patti LuPone, who are exceptional in their respective roles. While it's predictable at times, the episode's highlights are the hilarious moments shared between the two lead actresses, Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs.

And the Model Apartment is a well-executed episode, filled with laughs, and raising the stakes for the girls' cupcake business. The ladies will keep us entertained in the remaining episodes of the season, and this episode is a great example of why people love 2 Broke Girls – it's fun, light-hearted, and downright hilarious.
