The episode starts with Liz Lemon, head writer of the fictional sketch comedy show TGS with Tracy Jordan, attempting to pitch a new clothing line called "Dealbreakers" based on her book of the same name. However, her idea is shot down by Jack Donaghy, the network executive, who deems it too niche and feminine.

Meanwhile, Tracy Jordan, one of the show's stars, is contacted by his estranged father in Brooklyn who wants to reconcile with him. Tracy, hesitant at first, eventually agrees to meet with him. However, upon arriving in Brooklyn, Tracy realizes that he cannot relate to the neighborhood's hipster culture and its obsession with organic food and vintage clothing.

Parallel to this, Jack is visited by Bianca, his ex-wife, who informs him that the Kabletown CEO Hank Hooper plans to fire one of the network's executives. Jack, fearing for his job, decides to compete with his colleagues for a chance to stay employed.

Back at TGS, Liz becomes obsessed with the idea of creating a product that caters to "everyday people," and enlists the help of her staff to come up with ideas. However, the results only prove to be disappointing, and Liz begins to doubt her own abilities as a writer.

As Tracy attempts to bond with his father over basketball, he realizes that the man he once knew has changed due to his newfound hipster lifestyle. The two eventually get into an argument, with Tracy leaving in frustration.

Meanwhile, Jack decides to present his "Brooklyn Without Limits" clothing line to Hooper, hoping to save his job. The line, which is meant to celebrate the diversity of Brooklyn, proves to be a hit with Hooper and the other executives, and Jack's job is secured.

The episode ends with Tracy returning to TGS, where Liz presents him with a shirt from her "Dealbreakers" line. Tracy, impressed by the shirt's comfort and affordability, decides to endorse the line, much to Liz's delight.

Overall, "Brooklyn Without Limits" is a humorous and satirical take on hipster culture and the world of corporate fashion. The episode also continues to explore the workplace dynamics of TGS, as well as the relationships between its characters.
