Against the Wall is a police procedural drama series that aired on Lifetime from July 31, 2011, to October 23, 2011. Created by Annie Brunner, the show starred Treat Williams, Marisa Ramirez, Mayko Nguyen, Brandon Quinn, Rachael Carpani, Kathy Baker, Chris J. Johnson, Andrew Walker, and others.

The storyline revolved around the life of a young detective, Abby Kowalski, played by Rachael Carpani. Abby belonged to a family of police officers, and her long-standing issues with her family's baggage make her life quite challenging. However, she wants to make a name for herself and achieve her dreams despite her family's dark history. Hence, she decides to join Internal Affairs, which creates a conflict with her family members, who see her as a traitor.

Abby's family consists of her father, Don Kowalski, played by Treat Williams, her mother, Sheila Kowalski, played by Kathy Baker, and her three brothers: Richie, Steve, and Danny, played by Chris J. Johnson, Andrew Walker, and Brandon Quinn, respectively. All of them, except for Richie, are cops in a Chicago precinct. Don is a veteran cop and head of the family who has served over twenty years on the force. He strongly disapproves of Abby's choice to join Internal Affairs and often clashes with her over it.

Abby's work as an Internal Affairs detective involves investigating her fellow police officers. Hence, she faces a lot of resistance and hostility from her colleagues, who see her as a snitch. This creates a lot of drama and tension in the show, which keeps the audience hooked throughout.

Marisa Ramirez plays the role of Lina Flores, Abby's partner, and friend at Internal Affairs. Lina is tough, smart, and efficient; she is an excellent contrast to Abby's more laid-back approach. Throughout the show, Lina is Abby's confidante and support system, helping her navigate the complex and challenging world of Internal Affairs.

Mayko Nguyen plays the role of Mackie Phan, an ADA and Abby's former college roommate. Mackie is brilliant and ambitious, which makes her a formidable opponent in court. Mackie often helps Abby with legal advice and occasionally covers her ass when Abby gets into trouble.

Brandon Quinn plays the role of Danny, Abby's youngest brother, who is impulsive and reckless but means well. Danny's reckless behavior often gets him into trouble, creating problems not only for himself but also for his family.

The show delves into a lot of themes that are relevant to law enforcement, such as police brutality, corruption, and racism.
