Ep 5. Guy Hastings

When the new episode of Alcatraz begins, we see that a former Alcatraz prisoner named Guy Hastings has resurfaced. Hastings was a notorious bank robber, who disappeared from the prison back in 1963 along with the other inmates. But now, he's back, and with a vengeance.

As Lucy, Hauser, and the rest of the team investigate Hastings, they discover that he's been targeting the families of the people who put him behind bars in the first place. Not only is he seeking revenge, but he also wants the money that he feels he's owed.

Meanwhile, we get a glimpse into Hastings' backstory. We see how he was a father who was forced to turn to a life of crime to provide for his family. It's a sympathetic portrayal that helps us understand the character a bit better.

There's also a subplot involving an elderly woman who has been swindled out of her life savings by a shady contractor. It doesn't seem like it's connected to the main story at first, but as the episode progresses, we see how everything ties together.

As we've come to expect from Alcatraz, there are plenty of action-packed scenes and pulse-pounding chases. But what sets this episode apart is its emotional depth. We see how the characters are dealing with their own personal demons, and how their pasts are impacting their present.
