Alphas is a science fiction drama television series that aired on Syfy from 2011 to 2012. The show is created by Zak Penn and Michael Karnow, and it stars David Strathairn, Warren Christie, Laura Mennell, Erin Way, Malik Yoba, and Ryan Cartwright. The premise of the show revolves around people who possess unique abilities and personalities, known as Alphas. The Alphas are individuals with extraordinary physical and mental abilities, such as heightened strength, agility, and intelligence. The show follows a team of Alphas who are recruited by the government to use their abilities to investigate criminal activities and prevent potential threats to society.

David Strathairn plays the role of Dr. Lee Rosen, the leader of the team tasked with tracking down Alphas who go rogue and pose a threat to society. He also serves as the mentor to the team members and is responsible for guiding them to hone their abilities.

Warren Christie plays the role of Cameron Hicks, a former Marine who possesses superhuman aim and is able to hit any target with incredible accuracy. Laura Mennell plays the role of Nina Theroux, an Alpha who can manipulate people's thoughts and actions with her voice. Erin Way plays the role of Rachel Pirzad, a young woman with hyperactive senses, which allows her to see and hear things that others cannot.

Malik Yoba plays the role of Bill Harken, a former FBI agent who possesses superhuman strength and endurance, and Ryan Cartwright plays the role of Gary Bell, a high-functioning autistic man who can process and interpret massive amounts of data.

The show's plot follows the team as they investigate cases of criminal activity and threats to society, often encountering other Alphas with dangerous and unpredictable abilities. The team members must use their unique abilities to work together to unravel mysteries and prevent major disasters.

One of the central themes of the show is the different ways that the Alphas perceive and interact with the world around them. Some Alphas, like Nina, use their abilities to manipulate people for their own gain, while others, like Cameron, struggle with the physical and mental toll that their abilities take on their bodies.

Despite its relatively short run, Alphas was praised for its original concept, strong performances, and engaging storytelling, making it a must-watch for fans of science fiction and superhero dramas.

Alphas is a series that is currently running and has 2 seasons (25 episodes). The series first aired on July 11, 2011.
