American Odyssey is an American political thriller series that aired on NBC in 2015. The show follows the story of a group of individuals who are connected through their involvement in a complex military conspiracy. The main character, Sgt. Odelle Ballard (played by Anna Friel), is a member of a special operations unit that discovers evidence of a major corporation's involvement in funding radical Islamic extremists. When she tries to bring this information to light, she becomes the target of those involved in the conspiracy who want to silence her at all costs. Ballard soon finds herself on the run, using all of her military training to evade capture and expose the truth.

Meanwhile, in New York City, Peter Decker (played by Peter Facinelli), a former corporate lawyer, becomes involved in the investigation when his boss is murdered after contacting Odelle. Decker finds himself embroiled in a dangerous game of corporate espionage, where the stakes are high and the players will stop at nothing to protect their own interests.

In addition to Ballard and Decker, the show also focuses on the lives of two other characters: Harrison Walters (played by Jake Robinson), a political activist who becomes involved in the conspiracy when he inadvertently obtains evidence; and Aslam (played by Omar Ghazaoui), a young Iraqi boy who becomes caught up in the conflict after his family is killed by American soldiers.

Throughout the course of the series, it becomes clear that the conspiracy runs deep and involves not only powerful corporations, but also high-ranking military officials and government agents. As Ballard and her allies work to uncover the truth, they must also navigate the dangerous world of international politics, where alliances shift and loyalties are tested.

One of the standout performances in the show comes from Daniella Pineda, who plays Ruby Simms, a savvy political journalist who becomes involved in the investigation. Pineda brings a depth and complexity to the character, who is both driven and vulnerable, and who must navigate the dangerous world of journalism in order to get the story.

Another strong performance comes from Sadie Sink, who plays Suzanne Ballard, Odelle's teenage daughter. Sink brings a maturity and depth to the character, who must deal with the trauma of her mother's disappearance while also coming of age in a world that is far more complicated than she ever imagined.

Treat Williams also delivers a standout performance as Colonel Stephen Glen (ret.), a high-ranking military official who becomes involved in the conspiracy. Williams brings a gravitas and depth to the character, who must grapple with his own loyalties and moral compass as he becomes drawn further into the conflict.

Overall, American Odyssey is a tense and exciting political thriller that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. With its strong performances and complex storytelling, the show is a must-watch for fans of the genre.
