Ep 4. Pandora's Box

In season 4 episode 4 of American Pickers, entitled Pandora's Box, the dynamic duo of Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz's love for motoring takes them on a cross-country journey through Kentucky and Indiana in search of one-of-a-kind antiques and vintage collectibles.

Their first stop is the Bluegrass State, where Frank and Mike are on the hunt for a rare collection of some vintage cars. During their visit, they come across several other intriguing finds, including a 1930s arcade machine and a collection of classic advertising signs. On their next leg of the journey, they head off to the Hoosier State in search of a legendary Indian motorcycle hoard. Along the way, they stop at several destinations, including a sign museum, where they come across several iconic and historic neon signs. One sign, in particular, piques their interest: a sign for an old gasoline and oil company. The sign's paintwork and enamel finish are in remarkable shape, something rare for a sign that old and used for so many years.

Finally, they meet up with a fellow picker who has filled a barn full of vintage motorcycles, parts, and memorabilia. Collecting motorcycles has been a passion of his since he was a young boy, and he has gathered some unique and rare pieces over the years. As they peruse through his collection, Mike and Frank are amazed at the number of classic Indian bikes, some of which dates back to the early 1900s. They also discover boxes of NOS (new old stock) motorcycle parts, still in their original boxes, untouched for many decades.

Throughout this episode, Mike and Frank demonstrate their deep knowledge and appreciation for antique motoring and all things vintage. They show how their vision and instincts for finding the best and rarest items allow them to uncover and acquire hidden treasures that others may overlook. Their fascination for collecting unique, classic, and historic vehicles and automobilia is infectious and makes for an engaging and entertaining watch.
