Ep 2. Identity

Oliver Queen returns as the vigilante Arrow in the second episode of the second season, "Identity". In the aftermath of the Undertaking, Oliver has retired from his vigilante persona and is focusing on rebuilding his family's company and relationship with his family and friends.

However, when a group of criminals wearing Arrow costumes begin robbing banks and committing other crimes in Starling City, Oliver realizes that his absence has created a void that is being filled by copycats. He decides to take up the mantle of the Arrow once again, but this time with a new approach.

Oliver creates a new identity for himself - the frivolous and carefree billionaire playboy - in order to throw off suspicion from his real persona. Meanwhile, he trains Roy Harper, who has idolized the Arrow and wants to join his crusade. However, Oliver is reluctant to let Roy join until he has proven himself capable.

A new villain also emerges in this episode - the Clock King, who uses his expertise in timing to plan and execute elaborate heists. The Clock King's first target is the Queen Consolidated Applied Sciences division, where he plans to steal a piece of technology that has the potential to be used for nefarious purposes.

Felicity Smoak, who has become a queen of quips and wit, uses her skills to help Oliver and the rest of Team Arrow defeat the Clock King. She also discovers that the technology the Clock King stole is being used to help someone who is close to the team.

As Oliver tries to balance his two identities, he also struggles with his feelings for Felicity. He confides in her about his inner turmoil, and she offers him support and advice. However, their conversation is cut short when they discover that someone has hacked into the Queen Consolidated mainframe and is using it to launch a missile at the city.

Oliver, Felicity, and Diggle work together to track down the hacker and stop the missile from destroying Starling City. In the process, Ollie is forced to reveal his true identity as the Arrow to Felicity in order to gain her assistance in stopping the missile.

The episode ends with Oliver struggling to reconcile his two identities and questioning whether he can truly have a normal life while continuing his vigilante activities.

"Identity" is a thrilling episode that sets up major plotlines for the rest of the second season while also providing plenty of action and humor. The addition of the Clock King as a villain adds a new dynamic to the show, and Felicity's increased presence as a member of the team is a welcome change for fans of the character.
