The season 4 premiere of Basketball Wives LA opens with the ladies preparing for an exciting summer ahead in Los Angeles. Jackie Christie, the self-proclaimed "queen bee," is busy planning her annual pool party, while Draya Michele and Malaysia Pargo are gearing up for their fashion ventures. Newcomer, DJ Duffey, is introduced and is already causing a stir amongst the group with her fiery personality and love for turntables.
Meanwhile, Tami Roman returns to the cast and receives a warm welcome from the ladies. Tami wasted no time causing drama as she throws shade towards a former cast member that she has had issues with in the past. The ladies are immediately on edge due to Tami's reputation as a no-holds-barred personality.
As the episode progresses, the ladies take us through their personal lives and struggles. Brandi Maxiell and her husband continue to work through their issues after her battle with ovarian cancer, while her friend and cast mate, Malaysia, is dealing with co-parenting and being a newly single mom. Kristen Scott is adjusting to being a wife and stepmother while working as a model, and Jackie Christie is dealing with the aftermath of her daughter’s escape from her overly-controlling household.
Amidst all the personal struggles, major tension is brewing. Tami and Jackie's long-standing feud comes to a boiling point when Jackie confronts Tami about her "lies" and Tami calls Jackie out for being afraid of her. Meanwhile, on DJ Duffey's first night out with the group she ends up getting into a heated argument with Draya Michele, causing Malaysia to question DJ Duffey's motives for joining the show.
As the episode comes to a close, the ladies prepare for Jackie's pool party. But with so much tension and animosity in the air, it remains to be seen whether the ladies will be able to keep their cool, or if the drama will boil over.
Overall, episode one of Basketball Wives LA season 4 sets the stage for a dramatic and exciting season ahead. With new cast member DJ Duffey stirring the pot, Tami Roman's return, and ongoing personal struggles, the ladies are sure to have a lot to deal with both on and offscreen.
